COREVISION WAITER · ANDROID
Privacy policy
Effective 6 September 2026
How CoreVision Waiter uses camera, pairing, staff and order information on your restaurant’s local network.
1. About this app
CoreVision Waiter is a restaurant staff application provided by CORE VISION IT SOLUTIONS. It connects to a restaurant's CoreVision POS Waiter Host on the same local network. The restaurant controls its staff accounts, paired devices, menu, tables and order records.
This policy describes the Android Waiter application. A restaurant's separate Cashier, Cloud services, backups and business-record retention may also apply after an order reaches its POS system.
2. Camera access
With your permission, the app uses the camera to scan a restaurant pairing QR code. QR recognition is performed on the device. The app does not save or upload the camera preview as photos or video. You may deny or revoke camera permission in Android settings; camera access is needed to use the current QR pairing screen.
3. Information processed
To pair and operate the app, it processes the restaurant and Host identifiers, local Host address, certificate fingerprint, a one-time pairing code and a persistent device credential. Pairing sends an app-generated device identifier, device name, operating-system platform and app version to the selected restaurant Host.
To identify authorized staff, the app processes employee identifiers, display names, roles, PIN authentication and session credentials. Staff accounts are managed by the restaurant, rather than created as public accounts in this app.
The app displays the restaurant menu and table information and processes the orders entered by staff, including selected items, quantities, configuration choices and notes. Drafts and submission state are stored on the phone so a connection interruption does not silently lose an order or cause a blind duplicate submission. Submitted orders are sent to the restaurant Host with the credentials needed to authorize them.
Do not enter unnecessary personal, medical, payment-card or other sensitive information in free-text order notes. The app does not provide payment-card processing, a digital wallet, financial services or health services.
4. Purposes and destinations
Information is used to connect a device to the correct restaurant, authenticate staff, provide menu and table information, submit and reconcile orders, protect access and show connection or error status.
The current app communicates with its paired local restaurant Host. It has no public-Host route or Internet failover. It does not include advertising, advertising-identifier access or an analytics SDK. It does not request access to contacts, microphone recordings or device location.
The restaurant may separately configure its POS to back up or synchronize business records. Such processing occurs through the restaurant's POS setup and is not an Internet fallback connection in the Waiter app.
5. Security and local storage
App-to-Host requests use HTTPS, and the app checks the Host certificate against the identity obtained during pairing. Pairing and session credentials use the operating system's secure storage. Draft order data is kept in the app's private local storage. Android application backup is disabled for this app. No security mechanism can guarantee protection against every risk.
6. Retention and deletion
Pairing information remains on the device until it is released, revoked, cleared or otherwise invalidated. Employee sessions expire according to the restaurant Host's session rules. Drafts and submission records are retained as needed by the app's order workflow; this version does not promise automatic deletion after a fixed number of days.
A restaurant manager can revoke a paired device from CoreVision POS or authorize release of the restaurant connection. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it removes its local app data, but does not delete business records already submitted to the restaurant or records in the restaurant's separate backups.
Contact your restaurant administrator about access, correction or deletion of staff and order records. Some records may need to be retained by the restaurant for its business and recordkeeping obligations. For questions about the app or this policy, contact CORE VISION IT SOLUTIONS at support@corevisionitsolutions.com. Please include “CoreVision Waiter privacy” in the subject. Do not email staff PINs, device credentials or live pairing QR codes.
7. Intended users
CoreVision Waiter is designed for authorized restaurant staff. It is not directed at children.
8. Changes
This policy will be updated when the app's information practices change. The effective date on the published policy will identify the applicable revision.
